I think it was in 2013 that I stumbled upon Rachel Khoo’s Little Kitchen in Paris by BBC food. And I was in love! She was the most inspiring and wonderful person to remind me that french cooking doesn’t have to be pretentious and it can be so easy.
The first recipe I cooked by Rachel Khoo was “Oeuf en cocotte” (Eggs in a cup). It was such a success that I had to make it several times again. I remember that the first time I made it, it was like 10 pm in the evening and I was hungry after watching her cooking show. Luckily I had all the ingredients available so a late nite snack was served.
What I like about her cooking series is that she has a no-nonsense attitude to cooking in a very tiny kitchen in THE city of food. Also, she shows that you don’t have to have a state of the art kitchen and all the latest gadgets and things to cook great food. I do have to say that I do dream of a state of the art kitchen, but in the meanwhile, I can create as great food as Rachel Khoo does in hers.
