Enter the Slow Cooker
It might sound crazy to some people, but before 2013 I had never heard of “Slow Cookers” or crock-pots. After my initial suspicion about the cooker, the concept and the usefulness, I am a full convert. There is NOTHING greater invented after inventing fire. Seriously!
The marketing argument that got me was “have a life, eat great food”. What? I don’t know if anyone of you is the kind of person who does love eating good food, but hates to cook the “everyday” grub.
I was so bored of the everyday cooking that I had practically stopped being creative in the kitchen because I didn’t want to spend all of my time cooking while others have all the fun. My recipe selection had gone down to 3-4 recipes that I kept doing over and over again. Talk about boredom, but hey, fast and easy cooking, without too many store bought ready meals was what I wanted.
I got a slow cooker in August 2013. I also got a book with 1000 slow cooker recipes. I and my boyfriend have been eating healthy, affordable, delicious dishes ever since.
I have been doing other things than stayed in kitchen …and in the meanwhile my lovely slow cooker was doing her wonderful job. (Thought I did learn that I should not cook during the night, the aromas that came from the kitchen kept me awake most of the night…)
I am so excited about the device that I could sing a serenade and write poetry to praise it. Here is the cooker I have: SlowCooker on Amazon.
