Italian Espresso Experience
It has been years since I was in Italy. The only expectation that I had for the trip was that I would be drinking excellent espresso. I was not disappointed. My hotel room had a very fancy coffee machine, which I, unfortunately, did not get to use because I was so into trying the “real” coffees made by a human, not just a machine.
The espresso I had from real cafes was up to par with my expectations. I went a bit overboard with my espresso consumption there. I had 5 espresso during my second day in Milan, and I can tell you that it was not a very good idea to have the fifth after I had already had it. But oh, it was so tasty! Two espresso in the morning to wake up. Two more in a Latte Macchiato before lunch and then the final fifth after lunch. I can tell you that I really felt the caffeine jitters.
There is something special about the Italian dark roast coffee and Italian water. It makes the coffee so smooth and round. I have had my best coffees in Italy, no other place ever quite matches with the quality and flavor.
